10km Fiber Optic Communication Reel for FPV Drones: Lightweight Single-Mode Cable System

The 10km Fiber Optic Communication Reel is designed to provide a stable optical data connection for FPV drones, ground robots, surface platforms and other remotely operated systems.

Instead of transmitting data through conventional radio frequencies, the system uses single-mode optical fiber. This helps reduce the influence of radio-frequency congestion and electromagnetic interference while supporting a consistent video and control connection over distances of up to 10 kilometers.

With a total weight of approximately 880-980 g, the reel combines long cable length with a compact and lightweight design. It can be integrated into compatible aerial, ground or surface platforms while keeping additional payload weight to a minimum.

Stable Optical Connection

Fiber-optic transmission is not affected by conventional radio-frequency noise. This makes the reel suitable for use in locations with crowded wireless networks, industrial equipment or other sources of electromagnetic interference.

The wired optical connection supports stable data transfer without relying on the surrounding radio-frequency environment.

Single-Mode G657A2 Optical Fiber

The reel is supplied with 10 kilometers of G657A2 single-mode optical fiber with an outer diameter of approximately 0.27 mm.

The fiber provides low optical attenuation of up to 0.35 dB/km at 1310 nm, supporting consistent data transmission, responsive control and high-quality video over the full cable length when used with compatible equipment.

Lightweight and Compact Design

The complete reel weighs approximately 880-980 g, depending on the configuration and production tolerance.

Its compact spool measures approximately 12 cm in diameter and 33 cm in length, allowing it to be installed on compatible aerial, ground and surface platforms without adding excessive weight or bulk.

Durable Construction

The spool is made from durable ABS plastic. The optical cable features a reinforced PVC outer jacket designed to help protect the fiber during handling, transport and deployment.

The reel is suitable for use within an operating temperature range of approximately -20 °C to +70 °C and a storage temperature range of approximately -40 °C to +70 °C.

The materials comply with RoHS requirements.

FC/UPC Optical Connectors

The reel is equipped with FC/UPC optical connectors for connection to compatible fiber-optic transmitters, receivers, communication modules and video systems.

The standard optical interface provides precise connector alignment and allows the reel to be integrated into a compatible optical communication setup.
